That sounds probable to me.

Maybe if you were to say "technology" as a human endeavor, it might give religion a run for its money in a few more years, but not yet. There have been many more years of murder via religion than technology (or for materials to provide for technology).

Good question, though!

Religion is one of the most influential part of human life. It is basically the guidelines or code of a humans life. The thought of a being greater then any other has evolved through the millenia. The Greeks had many 'Gods', the greatest of them being Zeus. The most widespread and Influential religions have been the relatively new ones, which include Islam and Christianity. Even though both these religions believe in only one god, they have led to the most serious conflicts in Europe and Africa.

The concept of religion is extremely old and thus, has killed more humans than any other human endeavour.

NO two opinions on that. Religion stinks. Its sole function has nothing to do with saving one's soul but to brainwash the masses and teach them hatred, insecurity and worse still a sense of superiority over other religions! Organised religion goes against the grain of natural behaviour pattern of various races and its culture and tribes were turned over to adapt to a certain civilised way of thinking! Africa has been the brunt of religious onslaught and yet many would say Africa was the cradle of civilisation.

How do you judge when its organized religion killing and when its not? Is Israel and Palestine a religious thing or not? Where the crusades about land or the religion? In the end its people and their beliefs that kill. So no would be the ultimate answer for me. Religion is the excuse they use but its people who decide to kill.

No. War kills more people than any other endeavour. Religion is just used as a lame excuse for war. - A veteran of war.

I have absolutely no doubt that it has.

That's because when people kill in the name of religion, they are convinced they have God on their side, and do things that they would never have done on their own.
