I won't need to buy my ticket for a few weeks. I'm only going to be in London for about 4-5 days as part of a vacation. I'm concerned that taking a discount flight with a carrier like Ryanair or Easyjet might waste a lot of time. I'd have to take a train to Beauvais airport from Paris, and then land in a smaller airport outside of London and spend a few hours getting to London. On top of that the time required to check baggage in, etc...

Chunnel. Either take a Eurostar train (quite fast, will bring you almost to the center of London) or travel by car (don't recommend, using Le Shuttle will be longer and relatively more expensive).

BTW, Ryanair use to fly from Orly or CDG about 8 years ago. Not any more?

Cool. I am doing the same thing. I will only be spending 1 day in Paris. I found a great rate on a flight out of London Heathrow into Paris CDG on British Airways. Only an hour and I am there. If you want to see the scenery take the chunnel.

Take the Eurostar train, covers in 2 1/2 hours, need 45 minutes to checkin, takes you from Gare De Nord to London Waterloo

Come on. Only Eurostar. Especially with the nonsense at airports at the moment.

if you are really rushing for time, fly.

if not, take the train. it goes through beautiful countrysides! loved dover especially. if you have more time, spend some time at some of the different towns. might be better than just plain old london!
