I work 5 miles from home and it takes me about 8-10 minutes to get to work.

Before the school year started I could make it in 25 minutes - now it's more like 45 minutes. Crazy!
"WASHINGTON — It might be hard for some drivers to believe, but average commuting times are getting shorter for U.S. workers.
The average daily commute to work has shrunk from 25.5 minutes in 2000 to 25.1 minutes last year, according to data released this week by the Census Bureau.
"We all should hold a celebration," said Alan Pisarski, author of "Commuting in America." "We're saving 0.4 minutes!"
That's 0.4 minutes each way, for a total of 48 seconds a day."

All depends on the traffic usually about 30-45 minutes.

Well I don't drive to work - like most here I get the bus in to save on gas and parking fees. Takes about 20 mintues if traffic is good - when it's bad...forever.

I take the bus. For a 5 mile distance it takes 2 busses and 1hr. However I save ALOT of money on gas, car repair expenses, and parking each day. So its worth it
