She is a icon of our time and has been in this business for more than 25 years. I adore her and have seen her in concert five times. She never cancels her shows or gives half-*** performances like other music wannabes. She is ever changing and evolving and thought to be sexually provocative at a time when women were not supposed to be. She is a trend setter and has molded my life and the lives of countless other young women. Her music is not sampled or boring and 25 years from now, when she is 73, they will still be playing Bordeline and Lucky Star on the radio.

This is really freaky because I just answered a question asking what famous person would you want let have a go at you (whatever that means lol?) And I said Madonna! and then I came across this question!
GO MADONNA! Best Singer of all time (except for Whitney Houston but she became a disgrace). Madonna is an amazing woman with an amazing voice. And she looks like she's 20, when she's really like 48. She should be the spokesperson for those make up commercials.

Madanna was great back in the 80s, but in the mid 90s to right now she's taken a complete nosedive for my tastes. I'll take old school 80s Madonna over her current music anyday!

She has a so so voice and cant really dance, she uses shock value to sell her music and concerts. When she first came out she was a cute girl with a few catchy tunes but now i find her an embarrassment shes far too old to still be doing the the of music she does. I'm not a fan and never was so I am biased.

I think Madonna is SO OVERATED.... I just dont get her appeal. The only thing I give her credit for is making some ok videos in the late 80's and early 90's,when everyone else on MTV sucked

Madonna is a self marketer at heart. She found what put her in the spotlight and kept changing to stay there. Even the things that didn't work (childrens books, family woman, etc.) didn't stop her. She just rolled over each hurdle like a speedbump

I think Madonna's children should be strapped to a chair and forced to watch Mtv 24/7.

she is a marketing genius!! Her sound changes and is still excellent. She is definately up there with the greats. Madge constantly pushes boundaries. Personally I love her 80's movies...and of course all her musical talents. I think it's great that I grew up listening to her....and now my daughter listens too her!!

Madonna is a great business person. While I admire her talent (well some of her talent), she's amazing at getting her name out there and making it stick. She's also great at running her record label and helping other artists get ahead. YAY!

I'm going to say neither on that one.
She can't be the "best ever" - just look at her acting track record.
And she doesn't try anything just to be famous. That's reserved for Tom Green and Johnny Knoxville.
