Compare: in the 1960s, unwed mothers were despised, and sometimes even killed themselves for shame. Today they are honored and celebrated.

How to fix it...? Well, no one is listening to me, or to anyone my age or older; perhaps if the media grew a backbone and stopped glorifying gross immorality it might be a start...like THAT'S going to happen.

Sure is, like everywhere else in the world. It is inevitable. But I really think USA should be kept to be a dream land for the world. Unfortunately it is going towards the opposite. I have been to many places in the world and saw that everyone's dream was to be in the US. But it is changing fast.
What to do? Well ordinary people is in too much financial stress, trying to pay bills, owing to a bank for 30 - 40 years. Breaking up families. Also ignorant TV programs are keeping Americans un aware. It is important because TV is the most common entertainment. Plus I think most Americans do not know how to enjoy life without getting high with a drug or drink or smoke. It is sad. I also believe Americans with the invasion of new immigrants from other nations have been seeing too many evil ways. Earlier immigrants were there to find better life. Now some are there to destroy it, it seems. Where are all those wonderful Americans who would never allow such ugly publicity of their government? Can America really be this evil? I have been cheated by every nation all my life except Americans. Is it that ordinary Americans are angels and the government evil ?!! Does not make sense. Somebody must work on changing this image. Let us work hard and save money to come and see the land of plenty and home of the free from here overseas..

My grandfather complained about my fathers generation, my father complains about mine.... Every generation thinks that the country is in a moral decline. Mostly, it's just the media and politicians using a simple talking point that everyone can identify with. They might as well say, "The fat-cats in Washington spend too much money" or "Taxes are too high" - it's all the same and means nothing. We're not declining any more then they did in the hippie days of the 60's or during the roaring 20's or even during the time of the Wild West.

Just remember that people are people and will always be the same. All we can do is try to be better individuals and help our fellow man.

I don't think there's a moral decline. I think the whole population has the same average morality (if morality could be measured) as we have had throughout time. I just think that the media has sensationalized amorality too much. To the point where you don't hear about the good deeds and morality anymore.

Some people would correlate it with the rise in the amount of people who choose not to be religious, but I think that religion and morality are mutually exclusive.

I sure do. It seem like everyone want to have a baby momma and baby daddy verses having a husband or wife and kids. People that uses drugs actually think that it is cool. I honestly don't know what will come of my generation because right now we are in bad shape.
