It's absolutely fine. My daughter would ONLY sleep in her fisher price aquarium swing DAY AND NIGHT for the first 4 months....I did alot of research on it as a result. (much online and talked it over with two pediatricians) Both pediatricians and my research indicated that it was perfectly fine. In fact, some research suggested that it was actually BETTER for the baby - the swing has a slightly upright position, which lowers the risk of SIDS and GERD (acid reflux)...as long as your baby is strapped in, then he/she is absolutely fine. When my daughter got to 3 months, I started gradually weaning her from the swing...what I did was the following:
Step 1: Start turning off the swing after she has fallen deeply asleep. When she was able to tolerate this without waking up for a week, I moved to step 2.
Step 2: Leaving the swing on only for 10 minutes after she fell asleep. When she didnt wake up from this, I moved to step three
Step3: Swinging the swing manually for about 30 seconds after I put her in it, but did not turn it on. When this worked well enough to put her to sleep, I moved to step 4
Step 4: Have her sleep in the swing without any motion. She slept in it this way for about 2 weeks before I moved her to the crib.
Don't let your baby cry for long periods of time in the crib. 3 months is too young to let your baby cry it out! Experts suggest waiting atleast 6 months for that. Just gradually wean him from the swing. The first week I moved her to the crib, she didnt sleep so well, she slept very little and was tired, but I would only let her sleep in the crib...within about 2-3 days she got the message and was sleeping okay. Within a week she was PERFECT
Good luck! and dont let your baby cry - he will move to the crib when he is ready. Just be patient and hang in there. Remember this too shall pass!

You have conditioned your child to sleep in the swing by allowing them to do so. You need to put the baby in the crib and sit nearby. Do not say anything, or touch the baby, just let them see you sitting there. It may take a few nights, but you will condition them to sleep in their own crib. Remeber this with other things as your child grows...they are controlling you by their actions if you let them.
BTW: My brother and his wife made the mistake of driving the baby around until he fell asleep...lol...needless to say, it was before the gas crunch!

Is it possible that your baby has some sinus problems, and has trouble breathing in anything other than an upright position? I'd have a doctor's check to make sure this is not the case, then let them cry it out if no physical condition is found. Best of luck!

you can try and put them in her crib and let cry for about ten mins then just sit by the cirb but dont say anything to him. finally he will get where he will sleep in his crib on his own. but if he doesnt fall asleep within 15-20 minutes take him out and try something else like putting him in a vibrating chair. he probably just likes the swinging motion and the crib doesnt do anything. my baby bed has a built in vibration system so try something like that.

The sooner you break this habit the better off you will be. make sure your baby is fed, safe and warm, then put him in the crib and let him figure it out on his own. There is no harm in rocking him before sleep time, just don't get in the habit of rocking him until he falls asleep. Babies at this age need to learn to put themselves to sleep. Ti might be a tough thing to do, but it's a must.

I let him sleep in his swing until 6 mths, because of acid reflux it was better for him to be sitting up while sleeping.I would'nt worry to much about it right now if that is where he wants to sleep. He will out grow it.Just keep trying the crib until he is ready for it.

Wait until the baby is sleep, then move the baby to the crib.
Also...
My sister puts the bouncer in the crib because her newborn will only sleep in the bouncer.
Your baby will eventually fall asleep any & everywhere.
