Yeah, the base story might be real (sometimes) but the people who work for the show definitely add to it, tell them what to do to make it more "outrageous". Sometimes you can see the people who are fighting on the show trying to hold back smiles or laughs. And i just found out recently that on "Pimp My Ride" on MTV, they get to keep everything about their car except the outrageous goodies (i.e. the fold down tv's, the video game system in their trunk) When the show's done filming they take all that extra stuff right back out of the car. I'd still do it though for the paint job, interior, rims, etc.

Most of those people are aspiring actors and actresses wanting to be noticed. I first realized that a few years ago when all in the same week I saw some guy on some dating show like 5th wheel or Blind Date or something, then I saw him on Maury Pauvich and then I saw him on MTV's Spring Break for something.

it's 100 percent fake. They are a pure story craft by tv writers. I'm sure everyone gets paid.

It's all fake! Even Dr. Phil. I was watching that one day and he was going off on this woman for letting her teenage son drink and smoke weed in her house. Right before the commercial break, when she thought they had gone to commercial, she says "I can't believe you got that mad, it's all made up."

I do know one person that was on Judge Mathison's show. Their case was real, however, I don't believe 90% of that stuff.
