depends on if you plan on going some place in state or out of state. Out of state tuition is a little bit more. I went to the University of Missouri-Rolla and got my degree in Mechanical Engineering. I had to pay out of state tuition and if I remember correctly, it roughtly came out to be around 10-12k a year (around 5k-6k a semester). I definitely recommend scholarships, federeal loans, etc., to help with the costs.

If you choose your State University, the tuition may be $4000--6000 a year: the college course will be 4 years. Housing and books will be extra. But you may be able to get some assistance from the Engineering Department in return for some work. Explore the options. And there is summer paid employment.
