I lived in Sevilla many years ago. The experience was enlightening and the people muy sympatico. Festivals were always magnetic because they seemed to be expressions of life and living. Two expressions of that would
be the trek in the Marismas to the village of Rocio. The long walk from
Sevilla to Rocio with the attractive wagons, the gatherings, the guitars.
the singing, and dancing Sevillanas.
Flamenco is unique and with great depth expressing tragedy and love in
and of humanity.

I know that in Spain it rains mostly on the plain, but other than that...........
They speak Spanish with a lisp. Everything has a "th" sound. Like "thervetha" instead of cervesa.
They have tapas bars, not to be confused with topless bars.
They have gauchos, not to be confused with grouchos.
Go. Have fun. Take lots of pictures and call when you get back.
Cio!

Never been to Spain but my grandmother lived there.
I think of it as hot, dry, offshore retirement preference for wealthy ex-pat Britons. Has an enormous wealth of history and culture for anyone willing to explore a little.
