Post Office.com. They have a postcode finder. If you input the nme of street and town, it'll ask you what number.

Go to the last house on each street and see what number it is. That might give you a clue. If it says 1 then your at the wrong end

Just go to google maps or google earth. You can also go to www.zillow.com and you can even find the price of the houses on the street.

Your local council should have copies of the registry. I think that it usually costs about £20 to get a copy.
