Dr. Khaishagi, haven't you heard of the saying 'might is right'? America claims to be the superpower but in reality it is the worst of the weakest in the world - morally, spiritually, ethically and in any sense one can think of! They caused terrorism to breed in Afghanistan and Iraq and are doing so in Pakistan! They supplied arms to Israel which they are using to unleash a reign of terror in the Middle East! Israel showered a heavy rain of cluster bombs - supplied by USA - on Lebanon in the last 72 hours before the cease fire - a totally unacceptable inhuman act on the part of Israel for which the Prime Minister and Defence Minister, apart from the Generals responsible of that country should be tried for war crimes! USA also want to extend it to other parts of the Middle East such as Iran, Syria and Saudi Arabia, as well as the Far East - North Korea for example, as if what they did in Japan and Vietnam were not enough! All these can eventually lead to another world war as the scenario is similar to what was prevalent before the First and the Second World Wars!
Some Americans, not all, still support the government's action as majority of them are ignorant and unaware of what is going on and what people think of Americans in other parts of the world!

When was the last time an American had a child strap on a bomb and blow it up inside a busy restaurant full of innocent people and children?
When was the last time an American hijacked an airplane and flew it into a tall building in the countries largest city?
The answers are NEVER. You can believe what you want but you are wrong, ISLAMOFASCISM is the evil in the world today and the only states that support that philosophy are Iran and Syria. Which one are you from?

People don't support state terrorism. They repeat like a parrot what they are taught in school about the bombing of Pearl Harbor and of Nagasaki and Hiroshima.
It's as if you asked them to answer a math question. They think they are answering it correctly if they talk about sneak attack, ending the war, etc.
Fact is it makes no sense to whine about an attack on a military base, and it was unconscionable to drop those atomic bombs on civilian centers. Japan was close to surrender anyway, and the war could have been over in one or two weeks without the bombings. Even if a case could be made for one, the second bombing was just gratituitous and wanton destruction, violence and causation of misery.

Americans are blinkered people. Mushroom syndrome "kept in the dark and fed on Bull$hit" They need to do a little more fact finding, i think. Odd really how the greatest so called democracy on earth can be filled to the brim with so much frightening naivety. The problem needs addressing NOW.

Because they are stupid. THey dont want to believe that their government does anything wrong. They are just occupied by their pathetic shallow consumer driven existence and its too much work to care about what anyone else does or think for themselves.Its just easier to listen to the drivel from our government controlled media and follow that.

Not all Americans do, I don't. You may want to rephrase your question to "Why do some Americans support..." then it doesn't sound quite so argumentative.
