I want to have flawless skin (who doesn't? and I dont like wearing makeup). I am a light skinned african american female and about to be 19 on september 26. I HATE having to look in the mirror at these hedious scars on my arms, shoulders, back, and face. I look at other girls who get to wear anything because they dont have any scars on their body. They dont know how lucky they are. It just feels like everyone is looking at my scars and discolorations. I wish I could walk around without having to pull my shirt sleeves down so it can cover my scars or go one day without wearing makeup. I dont pick at my skin and i dont use any harsh cleansers. I tried everything under the sun: dermatologist (actually made my skin WORSE) etc.
I drink a lot of water and exercise regularly. I need HELPFUL and honest answers! I was thinking about surgery, for I am fed up with this and desperate to get results.

Well I think there are certain pills to take for acne, for example, I THINK erythromycin helps it. You can probably get this prescribed from your doctor. About the scars, have you tried the product Bio Oil? That was made specifically for scars and stretch marks etc. But most scars become less noticeable over time, so if you can make the acne go away, hopefully the scars will improve themselves.

NATURAL ACNE PROTOCOL
1/ Never, ever touch your face.
2/ Use 3 facecloths to wash your face, one to soap on, one to soap off with very hot water, one to rinse off with ice cold water, in that order, once a day.
3/ If you are under 18 take 5,000 IU of vitamin A once a day with a full meal
4/ If you are over 18 take 5,000 IU of vitamin A twice a day with a full meal.
Do not get pregnant while taking vitamin A. Do not take any more, like Accutane, it will stop you growing.
5/ Never, ever. pick, squeeze or pop your spot. Read number 1 again.
6/ Do this for 90 days.
7/ Invest in a brand new pillow and 2 new or more pillow cases to double bag' your pillow. HOT wash every couple of days.

A bit of advice given to me as a teenager, a bit of science as I am studying allergic reactions and vitamin A is a part of that. A bit of research: I sat in a lecture at the back and watched the acne prone pick at their faces, those with the worse acne touched their faces 32 times in an hour, the clearest complexions didn't touch their faces even once. I have circumstantial evidence that acne is the result of dermatophyte transfer from hands to face...where it does not get washed off and is well fed by hormones, sweat a
nd oil...just a hypothesis... But it would explain why vitamin A is so effective as vitamin causes skin to remove dermatophytes.

The secret is never to touch the spots

Tips on how to treat acne and achieve perfect clear skin in as little as 7 days?

microdermabrsaion
i think i spelled it wrong.
i had accutane for all the bad acne i had when i was about 20 and
it left me with all these pock mark scars. its a little costly, but it
can be done at a spa or at a dermotologists office. its a cream
of crushed up diamonds and they put it on a wand that spins
and it gradually fades your scars and sometimes it gets rid of them completely. its awsome, and its really good for your skin.
you can also get chemical skin peels, this is done at spas, dermotoologists offices and some plastic surgury centers.
they are kinda painfull afterwords, your "new" skin is all pinkish
and sensitive, but it really works too.

good luck

my cousin use to have real noticable acne marks, and she said all the stuff she tryed was made for ' white girl' skin. Then, our friend said its simple, just use PALMERS cocoa butter skin bar. there's different formulations. It will say "post acne", "fine lines", "smoothing & firming" and they're available at Family Dollars & some Wal-Marts. Use that, followed by Acne Free (brand) fading lotion. but the fading lotion also removes naturas oils, so you put a facial moisturizer you like after that. 3 steps and in a month, her face was glowing, her back was clear and she only wears foundation on formal occasions.

Exfoliate, lighten, and apply sunscreen. Depending on your skin type, you may opt for a chemical exfoliant (acids) or physical (ground walnut shell, polyethylene beads, etc), cream lightener or gel lightener, hydroquinine or hydroquinine-free lightener, and suncreen. Good luck.
