if you are getting a lot of popups, it might be due to you having malware or spyware on your computer. This can get on there several different ways including downloading programs, music, etc. If It becomes an absolute nuisance (getting a popup like like every other minute or so) run your updated virus scan. If you dont have one, go to http://www.ewido.net/en/ and run the trial version of this anti-spyware program. Adware also has a free trial version and I ended up buying the upgraded version and works great. The URL for that is http://www.lavasoftusa.com/software/adaware/

These two programs should get rid of most spyware and malware on your computer. It is my belief that this is why you are getting a lot of popups. Run those and your problems should go away.

Depends on the web browser you are using. Yahoo and a few others have pop up blockers built into their toolbars and are free to download and have other useful features

When you're in the Internet, go to the Tools tab at the top, and just select 'turn on pop up blocker'.

That should do it!

If you have popup blocker on and you still get popups it is most likely that you have software on your computer that is opening remote ports to allow popups. I would get a program that scans and IDs or deletes popups and other spyware programs. It might be that you downloaded a program that allows other outside sources to come into your computer. A good program like norton or macaffee will remove those programs and close the ports. try my source to search for other versions of spyware removal and anti virues.

You need to get a proper anti virus programme which has a pop up blocker in it. Norton Anti Virus is good.
