I'm a high school senior this year, I'm thinking about apply to a college that has a good EE program. I thought about applying to Carnegie Mellon, Caltech or MIT but is afraid that they won't accept me. My grade in school is that top notched, I only have a gpa of 3.91, and my SAT score is really low because my bad writing and reading skill, my math is 790 though. Can anyone suggest me a good backup school that has a decent EE program that I probably have a good chance of getting into?

Colorado School of Mines in Golden, Colorado. My friend went there and he is really smart. He is a electrical engineer.

Caltech is a good choice but I don't think MIT is viable with that SAT score(they're too competitive even with your ok math score)
Try Purdue and UCLA among others, Georgia Tech is ok too.
