Reminds me of Chris Rock's HBO standup

Who the biggest liars?
Women the biggest liars.

Masters of the lie, the visual lie.

Look at you.
You got on heels, you ain't that tall.

You got on makeup,
your face don't look like that.

You got a weave, your hair ain't that long.

You got a Wonderbra on,
your ti##ies ain't that big.

Everything about you is a lie,

...and you expect me to tell the truth??!

No. Make up can be a real confidence boost for women, and make them feel better about themselves. What I think should happen is that only make-up products that are not tested on animals should be sold. But there's other issues in the animal cruelty/human vanity debate, like killing for skin or fur, which are just as much of a problem if not more and also need to be adressed.

Not all makeup is animal-tested. Many women prefer cruelty-free products when they find out what animal testing's about.

Besides, I think it's awfully sexist to tell someone that they "can do without" something they don't normally wear themselves. Sacrifices are oh-so-easy when you're calling on someone else to make them.

There are cultures where women are forbidden to wear makeup for religious reasons. They get beaten for a hint of lipstick. I'd hate to see that here.

Well I think we should keep make-up just do away with the testing on animals part of it. I wear make-up almost everyday and you know I must do a good job of putting it on I am constantly being told how good I look and how its just not fair because I don't need make-up to look so good.....and I'll have make-up on....people can not tell I have it on when I do...but once they then see me on my no make-up day they can tell somethings not right and can't figure it out...I usually spend the whole day telling people no I haven't been crying apparently I'm all red and teary looking it sucks but I know I'm one of the lucky ones.

I'd love make up to be banned then we women wouldn't have the hassle of putting the stuff on every morning! and we'd all be the same... some of us 'have' to wear it though...
I agree not all make up is tested on animals, i wouldn't buy any that was....
Another thing make up (in a way) has been worn for centuries, by both men and women, to seperate one tribe from the next.
Now shut up and hand me that masacra!

I think there are plenty ways to test make up, without using animals.

I understand that it will be more expensive to do so, but I'd be willing to pay more, knowing that the item hasn't put an animal through suffering.

I hardly wear make up, but when i do its for a special occasion because it (if applied properly) can enhance what you already possess. So it makes you feel special and pretty. I can go with out it but its like chocolate...whould you really want to?

*and you can buy make up and any beauty products for that matter that are NOT tested on animals

I don't wear it. I think animals should not be used in experiments where they go blind, get sick, tortured, abused &c for women (and mens) vanity. Its selfish. Also fur coat wearing. Fake fur looks fine if you must. Have you visited the PETA website?

All animal-tested cosmetics should definitely be banned! Personally, I'd like to see women abandon makeup completely, but I know that'll never happen.
