I believe it should be. The teens and roaring 20's are a time for exploration of oneself and a person will miss out on a lot when they get married at a young age. It is a time to pursue education and/or start a career. It is a time to try different things and relish in the buffett table that life has to offer. Young people are usually not mature enough to understand all of the responsibilities that a marriage involves. They go in with false expectations and end of unhappy wondering what life would be like if they had experienced more in their young life. Agree or disagree?

I think a lot of people have sort of adopted that. (I certainly have. I'm a month out from the stated minimum age and I'm with someone who I could maybe possibly consider marrying and not wanting to kill within a month, and we've been together for quite a while...)

I agree in spirit, I think. If people want to get married younger, go for it, but by 25 you've settled into life a bit and have a far better idea of what your future holds, and therefore can make better decisions.

Disagree. We're all completely different... while some may need to wait until 30 to get married, some may be just right at 19. People can go into a marriage with false expectations -- at any age!
Your points are sensible (and may fit you perfectly), but an age minimum doesn't apply to everyone. Plus, al lot of the things you talked about -- education, career, etc. -- are great fun to discover with someone you adore more than anyone else! And unless your "buffet table" refers only to relishing in other people and dating, I'd much rather NOT eat by myself! And if you're with the right person, you'll never miss out and wonder what life would have been like...

no. it's called live and learn.

people need to make mistakes.

I married young, still married to the same man, even though life in general isn't easy, I'm generally happy. Sometimes it's good to settle at a young age.

But I do agree that many go into a marriage with false expectations. But we should educate teens on marriage just as we educate them on pregnancy & sexual health.

I think if the person has their head on straight, and is certain what they want in life, their should be no set age to get married. You can be married and still pursue a career and education. People do it all the time!

Disagree. Some people are ready to get married when they're 18 and they stay together for life. But I do agree that marriage should be taken seriously and you shouldn't get married unless you know in your heart it's right and that you're in love and many other factors.

I disagree. Although I do think it important for people to pursue personal interests, and if said interests don't lend themselves to "settling down," then maybe it isn't the right time to get married. However, responsible and mature people under the age of 25 who are prepared to settle down should not be frowned upon for marrying simply because of their age.

Well, 25 seems fair to me, but I'm sure lot's of people would object....How about atleast 18, these men that marry little girls 14 and 15 years old should be hung, and the states that allow that **** are disgusting....I mean honestly what the hell does a teenager know about anything, they are being forced into adult situations with perverted pedophiles.....

25 is too far, I think that waiting until 20 or 21 is doable though. Some people mature faster than others though.
