Well yes and no. It's a bit confusing to me since some folks don't want the US to dictate to other countries what they can and can't do with their own military but they are also the first to "order" the US to tell Israel to stop using their military but if the US tells Iran to stop making fuel for nuclear weapons folks are saying don't tell an other country what to do. If a country is murdering thousands a people a year and US does something about it they accused of empire building but if they don't they are accused of not caring.

Americans have EVERY right and Iran has no right - they're representing a hostile offense to the free world, not a "defense," and that is false. There's going to have to be action taken against them very shortly.

In a similar fashion, the sane people of America have every right to tell liberals what to do, which is to keep silent and seek therapy.

No its not right...no one tells America how to arm or defend or what weapons they cannot have.

Iran or any other country has every right to defend itself from OCCUPIERS AND INVADERS AND OIL PIRATES!

Isn't it hypocritical how Bush has nuclear war missiles but he thinks that other nations should not have it??? Remember Hiroshima? The Japanese were fighting a war and Pearl Harbor was a war zone! How did America retaliate?...they dropped an atomic bomb on innocent, defenseless people in Hiroshima that were NOT in a war zone! COWARDS!!!

Bush is talking all this crap and trying to sound like some 'tough guy'....He and his chronies are chickenshit and cannot face any of the people they are attacking in person!!! they attack from hiding and with high tech weapons from miles away!!!

It's not a question of Iran dfending itsself. If you do a little research, you'll find that it's clearly stated in the Iran constitution, that they want to destroy the world in order to bring back Alah,or so they believe.

yes Iran has a right to arm itself according to international law that they agreed to follow. Do we also have a right to make sure countries with a fundalmentalist agenda are forced to not harm us.

No, America should not be telling other countries how to defend themselves even if we think we know the extent of the situation they are in. We tend to treat other countries as inferiors, and this is a policy that should be reveiwed.
Though We shouldnt have a right to tell a country HOW to defend themselves, that does not mean we should not stand up for those who CANT defend themselves. The greatest cornerstone of this great country is freedom, and that ideal should be spread to other borders.

Do you really believe Iran is arming itself for self defense? How naive can you get?

If that's all they wanted to do, it wouldn't be so bad, but they really want it as a threat against Israel and would probably use it as soon as they could. It's not just America who is against Iran being nuclear capable.

I dont think America has made the decision on Iran and its nuclear program. That is a U.N. decision. Why is it that when the U.N. does something one of you libs agree with you praise them, but when they do something you dont agree with, you single out the U.S. as the bad guy and give the rest of the U.N. members a pass?
