I think she suffered burnout years ago, and is only nominally the "writer" of her books anymore. We should actually be searching for the person that is really writing those books, and give them the recognition they deserve. But old J.K. is worth BILLIONS (she's the richest woman in the world after all), so she'll probably get away with this forever.

It's hard to call her a sellout when she started writing books to support her kids in the first place. You have to admire women who take the iniative to support her family instead of relying on government assistance.

I don't think so. I think she is a very talented children's writer who has earned the just rewards for her skill.

I think I read somewhere that she wrote the first book as a single mum sitting in cafe's in Edinburgh because it was cheaper than keeping the heating on in her flat. She still cycles around Edinrbugh and does wonderful things for children's charities.

Power to her.

She is proably writing for the money, but that's why everyone works. But look she got a lot of kids to read because of her books. And she started Pottermania!!! (Not to mention helping Daniel Radcliffe get famous)

I do, she's a crap writer, I hate her books. I say books, but it's only Harry Potter. Her characters are dull, boring, without any passion or personality. Hermione could be great, she made her so annoying. The best ones are Sirius Black, Dumbledore and Snape- and look what she's done to them. I would flush that woman's ugly face down the toilet if I could.

I think she has made it possible for everyone to enjoy her stories. A lot of kids discovered the joy of reading through the Harry Potter books. Do you really think that anyone writes for free????

No I don't think so. If she was in it for the money, she wouldn't be so interview shy. She'd want maximum exposure. Plus she could have had all the books written quickly so she could get them all out and then get the money quicker.

i think the first harry potter book was genuine and it was sooo popular that the rest of the series she wrote was for the fame and money, but it was a smart decision on her part because now she is rich.

Would you do whatever you're doing if it wasn't for money?

Of course she's doing it for money, but she's still enjoying what she's doing. You're good at what you enjoy doing. If she's good at writing books, than money is not the only reason she's doing it.
