Why don't you check with the courier companies? Or with the mail order companies? They could tell you whether or not this is a viable service.

Sure, check first with your local government and state government to see if a special drivers license is required and if there are any fees required to register and get licensed in this regard. Also, note: In several communities in my area the local government requires any commercial vehicle to have a sign on it saying the company name and telephone number. Check and see if this is required also. Good luck you may do well by contacting businesses near you and quoting low rates compared to other services.

you dont give yr location, but assuming u r in london (or other large uk city), b careful as the bike couriers will be cheaper and faster than you. Think about yr profit margin after tax and business insurance

I think you may have to aquire a special license for that. You'll need to have insurance of course (check with your current auto insurer) and I imagine you would have to have some legal advise for setting up contractswith your customers.

If you do make sure that you have full business insurance, including the carrying of goods for profit. Also make sure that you, yourself have some sort of insurance against being blamed for deliveries that go wrong.

You can advertise. Start with putting your business in those circulars in your town. It's not as expensive as putting it in the main newspaper. Also you can make up flyer's and pass them around. Put them up on bulletin boards at businesses if they permit and supermarkets. Good Luck with your business!
