Everytime when I try to do a disk defragment on my computer, it always says that theres only 13% free space and for a disk defragment i need 15% but i dont know how to get rid of unused files in my hard disk. What should i do???

Try a Disk Cleanup...also try using CCleaner:

well uninstall all programs that you dont need. Compress the folders containing images/music. Delete temp files, history, temp internet files.
use spytbot for malware/adware removal. You could try using Windows Disk Cleanup in Programs > Accessories folder. Also you could use Perfect Disk (download.com) to defragment. That's a much better tool.

Note - defragment in safe mode for best results.

These are ways of freeing up space on your hardrive

1. Do a disk cleanup first, then do a drefrag.

2. But if that doesn't work, try to uninstall unused programs.

3. Back up documents, etc on to cds or floppys

Follow these steps

1) Start->Settings->Control Panel
2) Internet Options
3) Delete Files
4) Check "Delete all offline content"
5) Click OK.

That's one of many possible steps :)

Even when DEFRAG says you don't need to defrag you can still do it. Just click on start defrag and let it run.

go to start then go to control panel and click on add and remove programs then select a program you do not need or want and click on the remove tab then that will uninstall the program. then if you wont clike on widndow componets a window will show up and that will tell you how much mb you have on your pc

use disk cleanup ... it will remove temp file and folder... also if still there is very less space use disk frag.

do not do it guy! I used that application and that i finished up not having a usable computer. this is too good. obviously i did not have the right information to configure this technique because it definately became not consumer pleasant..
