It will be all distorted if you go from 88x66 to 640x480. It looks like you just got the thumbnails - not the actual files.

You will need a good photo / image editor that will allow you to resize and adjust photos.

I would say that Paint.NET is one of the best, if not THE best photo editor currently available for FREE. I believe that it could rival much of Photoshop which is a very expensive program. Paint.NET is a collective effort started at Washington State University and is updated regularly with new features.*

One place you can download it is here:

Once you install it, you would open a photo and use the Resize option under Image. One of the Resize options is resolution. I usually increase this to match the resizing, so, for the sizes you listed, I would multiply the current resolution by about 7.3. This may or may not be necessary, but I have found it to work well.

Finally, you are going to loose detail when blowing a picture up, so you can try to adjust this by using Sharpen under Effects and gradually increasing the Sharpen amount to see what looks best.

Don't forget to save when you are done, preferably with a new name, perhaps the same as the original with "_big" added to the main name. You are almost certainly going to loose noticeable detail in the final pictures because of the major resizing, but hopefully they will come out reasonably well.

* Installing the .NET 2.0 update from Microsoft is required, one of the standard MS software updates.

If your original images are 88x66- then increasing their size will only make them blurrier. You'll need to rescan the originals pictures at a higher resolution. As people have already said, programs like IrfanView, Vueprint, Paint Shop Pro and Photoshop can all adjust the size.

Reducing a photo loses some detail, but enlarging it doesn't add detail back. You need to have them at a good resolution to start with.

Download IrfanView from irfanview.com. Its free and easy to use.
However dont expect a clear picture if you bloat it from 88x66 to 640x480

oops, that pics are tooo small to be enlarged:(

Still u can try the 'Image resize' option in photoshop and later use the "sharpen" filter to make it look sharp.

There are some dedicated plugins for this use, but they are just waste of money.

in case you attempt to edit a photograph, no rely what application you pick to apply, you're possibly to distort it. as an occasion, the 200x180 is virtually sq.. 2 hundred is the width, one hundred eighty is the top. in case you attempt to make it 160x120, the ingredient ratio (width to top) adjustments, and the image is now no longer "virtually" sq.. So the image would be particularly distorted.
