These organisations are not governed/managed by the Government. However, there are certain rules & regulations framed by the Government which is binding to the NGO's. The NGO's generally works in the field of development and upliftment of the society. They work on no loss no profit basis.
The NGO's are run by its members through its elected office bearers/governing body. The funds comes in two ways.
(a) By donations and
(b) By Government funding.
The NGO's are registered under the Sociey Act of 1856 and they are regulated under the provisions of this act.
Sulabh International is one of the biggest NGO's.
