Solve for y in the equation x=5/y+6 (*note... 5 is the numerator and x+6 is the denominator)

Please.....I need to learn the steps to get the answer, so show every single step no matter how small it is. Thanks

(y+6) * x = 5/(y+6) * (y+6)
x (y+6) = 5
y + 6 = 5/x
y = 5/x - 6

y + 6 = 5 / x, y = 5/ x - 6

x=5/(y+6)
now multiply both sides by the denominator on the right side, then you get
(y+6)*x=5
divide both sides by x
(y+6)=(5/x)
then subtract six from both sides
Answer:
y=(5/x)-6

Looks like we have three different answers here, so I'll give it a shot.

x= 5/y + 6

Subtract 6 from both sides
x - 6 = 5/y

Multiply both sides by y

y( x - 6 ) = 5

Divide both sides by ( x - 6)

y = 5 / (x - 6)

viola!

x=5/y+6
multiply everything by y
xy=5y/y+6y
the y's cancel out in the fraction there because y/y=1 because any number divided by itself is 1
xy=5+6y
put y all on one side
xy-6y=5
factor out y
y(x-6)=5
divide by (6+x) on both sides so y is all alone
y(x-6)/(x-6)=5/(x-6)
so now the fraction cancels itself out for the same reason as before
y=5/x-6

x = 5/(y+6)

Then,
cross multiply and you get;

y + 6 = 5/x

so, y = (5/x) - 6

x=5/(y+6).....
x=5y+30
x-30=5y
therefore
(x-30)/5=y
........denominator can be multiplied to numerator of opposite side
and vice versa.
therefore
y=(x-30)/5

1. Multiply both sides by y + 6:
x(y+6) = 5.

2. Divide by x.
y + 6 = 5/x

3. Subtract 6 from both sides.
y = 5/x - 6

x=5/x+6
(y+6)x=5
y+6=5/x
y=(5/x)-6

x = 5/(Y+6)...multiplying both sides by (y+6) will give,
x(y+6) = 5...now, dividing both sides by x gives,
(Y+6) = 5/x...subtracting 6 from both sides will give
y= (5/x)-6

That's is the answer.
