Just curious. I do NOT agree with it, and am against it. I am a mother of two beautiful girls, and couldn't imagine them not being here. The only way I see abortion as an option, is if a person has been raped(and has been filed as a rape case), or ill health. What do you think?

I am also against it because my biological mother had about 3 abortions when she was with my dad. She did not tell him about it, mainly because she knew they were not his. So, I feel very fortunate to be here that she had the slightest hint that I was my dad's.

And as far as the rape case thing, some women probably could not handle carrying a child in their womb. That could remind them of the incident everyday.

Yeah...this is a tough one. I have had them and used to think it was no big deal untill someone directed me to a website that actually showed pics of aborted babies from 6 weeks all the way to 9 months! I about dropped to the floor. I was sickened by what i seen and now my views have changed. I think that even in a rape case...adoption is an option. But this is america and everone has the freedome to do as they wish. I know if i could do it over again, i would do it different

I think there is hope and a reason for children of rape too they should not be punished for the sins of the father.
.I do not believe abortion is ever the answer, but I can't fault someone for making that choice whether raped or less violent methods. I have seen too much I know there are better ways just not always convenient or easy. I feel very sad for the moms what a choice to have to make.

PS. for the children of rape I guess we better get to work on backing any legislation that knocks down a crazy prehistoric law that dares to include a rapist, this is a horrible stain on our society. And it is not law thank God in all states. I am looking into my own countries laws now. A child should not have to die because of it, nor the mom a victim, victimized again. Make enough people aware of this and it will be a thing of the past, punish the Guilty not the Innocent.

I dont think its my place to judge what anyone does. I had an abortion because I was 17 and knew there was no possible way to take care of a child. I do not think it is right for a person to say, well, you didnt file a rape case, so that does not justify what you're doing. I do not think people know how you get treated when you have been raped and file a case. You have attorneys acting as if you're a whore or trying to find ways to say you asked to be violated, and I don't know of too many people that would like to get something taken away from them, and then be treated like crap for reporting it. I have children now, and probably would never have another abortion, but I do not judge those that decide to have one.

Well....I have 3 kids. I would never personally have one. I don't think anyone should unless the woman was raped, or if she is critically ill. I think that women who have more than one abortion should be sterilized so that abortion is not being used for birth control. And I think the abortion needs to be completed before the end of the first trimester. If not, too bad. And that's in ALL cases.

Wow! Is this a hot potato or what!

Please know I have no intention to disparage anyone.

But I would like to share my thoughts about this topic.

First, I believe every human soul has an inalienable right to make a choice. For me at least this is an unequivocal given.

Second, conscious life is the most precious gift in our Universe.

Take a moment and close your eyes. Now try to visualize the size of our Universe. Awesome isn't it? Even the brightest scientific minds today don't know how BIG it is.

OK, keep your eyes closed! Now try to visualize that in the awesome vastness of our Universe that the tiny speck we call home, Earth, is the only place on which conscious life can exist.

Our planet, a.k.a. Nature, is bursting with life! But it just seems
to me that there is just such a harsh cavalier attitude toward life all over our planet.

I personally have never had an abortion, and never could.
But, I am pro choice.
In the case of rape, a rapist has every right that another man would have when it comes to his children, unfortunately. That means when that child gets older, they will have to go see that man.
And that man could be alone with your children.
It's wrong, and something needs to be changed.
But overall, I believe it is the woman's body, and she should be able to make that decision.
I also believe that she should have been on contraceptives in the first place, but isn't this America? Aren't we supposed to be FREE?

I think that it's best to help prevent unwanted pregnancies and to help women and their partners raise their babies. We could be doing much, much more in those areas.

But when a woman really believes that it's not her time to have a child, she usually has a good reason. I am uncomfortable with the implications of making abortion illegal.

I adopted. If the birthmother had chosen abortion, I wouldn't be the parent of my child today. In the process, I met so many couples that would do just about anything to have a child. Even if you don't love what's in your womb, there are plenty of people that do.

I totaly disagree with abortion i dont feel anyone should have abortion even if they got raped. ITs Not the baby fault, if you can't deal with the reminders ,give the baby up for adoption, if I got raped I would keep the baby. and If i had a health problem I would NOT let anyone give me any medicine that would harm my child. I have alot of headaces during my pregnancy and I dont even take medication for it bec i dont want to put any chemicals in my body to harm my child. ( sorry that I went on a little)

i do not believe in abortion at all. i think a lot of males and females are getting to lazy to go to a convent store a buy protection (which they sell everywhere now) and then oops their pregnant and use abortion as an excuse to kill a baby because they didn't want to use protection!! you play you pay!! but mostly the baby ends up dead. pretty sad when their are tons of family's waiting to adopt a child and give it love. my son wasn't planed he was a surprise but i don't regret having him for one second!! he had made my life so much better.
