This is a very big issue.

I feel that killing is bad FULL STOP.

Killing a child because of your own stupid mistakes is just absolutely out of order. If you had a one night stand, or forgot your pill, or couldn't be bothered with a condom - that's your own stupid fault.

But to kill a child because of that, is unspeakably horrific.

What about all these people who can't have children - if you can't bring up a child happily, then by all means offer the child for ADOPTION!

I am practically infertile myself, I have been trying for 6 months, but the doctors don't rate my chances very high, and when I look for at adoption, theres not much out there in my area.

Yet instead of helping these distraught people find the one thing they dream of, you irresponsible women are killing babies you got 'ACCIDENTALLY' by not being careful.

Abortion is unacceptable - you get pregnant through your own doing, and even if i was raped, and happened to fall pregnant, i could not give up my baby - I agreed with Little Mo in Eastenders for choosing the path she did. She endured something totally horrific, but as soon as you look at that tiny little thing, who is totally dependent on you, you'll wonder how you could ever have considered killing it, before it's even had a chance to live.

Umm yes we are allowed to "terminate the life" of unborn puppies or kittens. I have often seen people take a pregnant female dog or cat to the vets to be spayed and the kittens/pups removed at the same time.

As for abortion, women have been doing it for thousands of years. Making it illegal will not stop it, it will just drive it into the back streets where women will die at the hands of seedy and dangerous back street abortionists. This used to happen all the time and will happen again if access to safe, medically controlled abortion is removed.

Wome have abortions out of DESPERATION.

So what are you going to do? Arrest and prosecute terrified 15 year olds for having DIY abortions? I really don't think that is any way for a civillised society to act - caring so much about an unborn child that they persecute another child who is actually born!!!

I think you should perhaps get off your moral high horse and mind your own business about what other women do. I am 26 weeks pregnant and love my baby to bits but that doesn't mean I want to force a 15 yar old rape victim to carry her rapist's child because I am so filled with warm fuzzies for the cute ickle baby. I am actually more concerned about the other CHILD - the mother.

Do you think that a woman who decides to have an abortion, for whatever reason, finds that decision and the action easy? Do you think they then just forget about it, put their fingers in their ears and go "La,la,la! That never happened"? Do you think that they NEVER EVER feel any modicum of guilt, remorse, pain, anger, resentment, self-loathing and a whole load of other feelings I can't even begin to imagine afterwards?

Don't be so quick to point the finger and judge. The only people who are TRULY able to commment on abortion are those women who have, for one reason, or another, had to or opted to go through the experience. I'm glad I haven't, and I wouldn't wish it on anyone.

At the end of the day, it's each individual woman's right to choose. In some countries, women don't even have that choice.

As for animals, well they are that. Animals. Until they're higher up that us on the evolution scale, then it's their tough luck.

Unborn kittens and puppies (as you call them) are quite commonly removed at the vet's b/c the cat or dog can't manage the pregnacy.

Your use of the phrase "unborn babies" is a way to show your opinion i guess. There are people that would also call the same "thing " just being part of a woman's body up to a certain week or degree. (and therefore it's her choice)

Don't be so stupid, of course you can terminate unborn kittens and any other animals. I know someone who terminated a pregnancy in a dog...

As for abortion in humans, then it should be pro-choice. The only thing I would like to see is the time to abort be reduced to 16 weeks in non medical cases, and 22 weeks in medical or rape cases.

Ah, yes, I see the usual suspects are here, with their memorized feminist catechism. Um, yes, too young; um, yes, rape. The truth is, most abortions are no more than birth control.

However the reason I think abortion should be outlawed is very simple.

Women, even feminists, don't believe in reproductive freedom. How do I know? Because they don't grant it to men. Period.

We hear all the reasons women think they should have reproductive freedom.

But, what happens when we change the subject to men's reproductive rights? "YOU PLAY; YOU PAY!!!" they snarl.

Note also that this indicates women believe they are inferior to men, since they think men can be held responsible for their actions, while helpless fragile women can't.

You really haven't seen what happens to animals in real-life, have you? I think unborn babies and "cute little" animals are in the same situation - neither of them "can't speak for themselves," but both are trying to be recognized and helped. I would love for the animals to get the same amount of coverage as the abortion issue - that way the situation of animal abuse would at least be better known, and hopefully stopped.

Since other domestic animals have such a short gestation period, there usually isn't a chance to abort. Not to mention they aren't going to tell you.
But I can tell you for a fact...if you take your cat in to be fixed and they find that the cat has kittens(or whatever you call them in the womb) they will go ahead with the procedure and remove the uterus. Same with dogs. So isn't that abortion?

I am totally against abortions.

I say if you are under 18 or it was a one night stand you already know what happens when you have sex and when you know these things then you need to face the consequences just like anyone else and not abort a child that you knew would happen when having sex.

If you do not want any babies just do not have sex at all...that solves the problems.
