The media should give space to a candidate for nothing. No financial contributions should be allowed to be given by anybody. Give candidates equal amounts of administration expenses, and let them get on with telling the people what they intend to do if they get in power.Anyone can run. The best policies win.Take the corporations out of the equation and you might get some realistic government. Instead of liers and thieves.

At least they would lnow what the American people wanted the actually would be one of us not one of the many untouchables we have in the government currently. How can some one with millions of dollars represent people who don't have money, trying to make ends meet and getting there childern an education help us. There is no clear representation of the working class any more. How do we change it.. Your sugesstions is the best one.

Who knows? No one would ever hear about them because how would they afford to campaign and tell millions of people simultaneously to vote for them? And the silly thing is, all those business and industry men... well they supply many of those pennies, to make sure they support the guy who will work best for their bottomline. So again, the world will never know.

Oh and this happens all the time - in places like Africa. The dirt poor with some weapons may over turn the government. So they can be fair? Hardly. So they can feel what it's like to be rich and powerful and exploit everyone else!

I imagine if you got a penniless person in office, and gave him a big ol' salary for the first time... you don't think he'd be buying cars, houses, hiring his poor friends/family, and making every dream he ever dreamed while poor, come true?

LACK of money doesn't make someone objective. (Lack of the LOVE of money might. You don't have to presently wealthy to be greedy and selfish.)

But yes the honest "nobody" part might - but then again, how would you find out about him in the first place? And how long would he/she stay honest? Power corrupts, Absolutely power corrupts absolutely.

Far better 'not to put your trust in nobles', who's lives are like a blade of grass, and dry up in a short time along with their thoughts and intentions!

I want a Joe Everyman in office, but pennyless? That shows bad financial skills to me. I want someone whos makes a lot of money, but lives a middle class life out of being humble. Someone who can be a strong leader as well as a good listener. Above all, a president that is honest and chooses not to use propaganda.

The guy you are looking for is ME! I'm definitely pennyless, mostly honest, and only somebody to nobody, so I think I fit the bill.

Who do you want, Gomer Pyle? Face it, a pennyless nobody is NOT Presidential material, no matter how honest he might be.

Dreamer! Impossible! There have been at least 2 rather wealthy, crooked, nobodies that were presidents. Carter & Clinton.

last one we had that fit that description was Harry S. Truman, he was penniless in comparison to the multi-millionaires of today, he was honest to a fault and NOBODY owned him..wish we could get back to someone like him...
