I am getting married in May and one of my bridesmaids has very little money for a dress. I want to have her stand with me and have considered helping her with her bridesmaids dress. The problem is that I cannot afford to help all three of my girls with their dresses...what should I do?

I am getting maried next July. Both of my maid and matron of honor are down on their luck. I picked VERY VERY inexpensive dresses ($80 each) and bought them myself. They have until July to try to buy them from me. Either way they get the dress. If the pay me back great if not oh well. I got my wedding to look like I wanted and wasn't out very much money. If they don't pay me back I was going to consider it my gift to them since the briode normally gives a gift to her maids.

Give the one bridesmaid money on the side put it in an evelope with a note attatched saying what the money is for and make her swear never to tell the others.

You should not purchase her dress for her. As you stated you cannot to afford all the dresses. It is the bridesmaid responsibility to purchase the dress that you chosen. If she can not purchase her own dress you should be responsible and let you know. This way you can ask for someone else.

Can the other girls afford it? Are they in the same boat? If not I don't see why it's an issue. I do see you problem and it is a tough choice. I say help her and May is a long way from today!

Do you have a family member or someone who can sew? You can make very pretty dresses for very little money.
Or just dont tell the other girls, say she is working it off if they find out. They should understand that the one girl is very short on cash., If they dont, they are pretty petty.

Just give them some money so the can put their money together with yours and have them go buy them their dress

Help out this friend but tell her to keep it between the 2 of you. I did that for my wedding and I never told any of the other girls, I just did it.
