I have been having a lot of trouble playing multiplayer pc games, the problem occurs when I connect to a game it runs fine for a while but then I get a message that says Connection Interupted and it disconnects but the strange this is some games work fine like Rome total war and others do not such as call of duty and halo. Could someone please help

Depends.
Usually when your game hangs, the whole PC freezes. This also prevents you from pressing Ctrl Alt Del when this happens. Try speeding up your internet connection or if the problem is within the game, and it uses up to much RAM, I suggest you get a new video card.
But if you're playing with someone over the net, and he/she is the host, I would suggest that he/she upgrade his/her PC or internet connection.
Did that solve your Problem?? I have the same problem, only my game is Star Wars: Jedi Academy with Force Mod III, and my brother and I play on LAN.
My computer is far faster than his, but because of firewall settings, I could connect to him but he can't connect to me. Since the PC he's using is slow, mine slowed down as well.

It could be a problem with the server. Or it could be a setting on your router, maybe you need to forward ports for certain games.
