Something sparked a memory that's bringing these dreams back to you. Maybe you're stressed out at work and you're thinking about a time in your life when you had no problems or responsibilities.

Every memory that we have had are stored in our brains within the memory banks. Even some of our most vivid & symbolic dreams are as well!
When we experience dreams, they are messages from our subconscious & stored memories. However, at times they came be prophetic!(predict future events)
We store traumatic experiences, daily experiences, spiritual experiences & happy experiences within our memory banks. Most of the time when we dream they can come out metaphorically, meanings they are sometimes dreamt in allegories or strange symbols .
To interpret & decifer our dreams we must 1st learn what & which type of symbols have meaning for us. There are lots of books on the subject of "Dream Interpretation". These type of books can be helpful. However, not all the examples given will ring true for each individual.
There are also individuals out there that have the gift to interpret your dreams for you.
I would recommend that you start recording your dreams into a dream journal. Some people like to use a small tape recorder as soon as they wake up (for best recall & to remember all the details of the dream), then they listen to the tape & transfer it to paper. Don't forget to date each entry.
Also add a section in your journal, right after you record your dream called 'Notes'. In your notes write down how the dream made you feel. Record your health at the time of the dream, (if you have a cold or taken certain medications). Also write down the events of the day that happened the night of the dream. Write down how old you were when you 1st started having these type of dreams & any significant experiences during that time in your life.
As you do this you will begin to see patterns & meanings in your dreams.
I have alot of experience with this type of work. If you need further assitance, you can reach me at:

Some people, myself included believe that dreams have some meaning, maybe you feel a certain way like you did when you were a child. Here's a good website to define dream meanings.
Once there click the Dream Dictionary tab at the top of the page.

Firstly, you dream dreams during your REM period.
Rapid Eye movement.
What is dreams? Right now, you are awake, your brain cycle in Beta brain waes. Once you close close your eyes, your brain cycle to Alpha brain waves. That where your dream come in.
When you are feeling emotional, your brain trigger a Gramma waves and in deep sleep, delta waves.
Now, What ever thing you do in the days, be it good or Bad. You learn them by remembering, by feeling and all your 5 senses try to understand your surrounding.
What trigger your flashback, is your saw something of your youth. Someone close to you mention something of your youth or that you saw thing that happened to you in the past, happened on someone else. All this trigger emotional flashback during the Beta waves.( That is when you are awake) As your brain cycle through this emotions,
during your dreams the brain still try to understand the surrounding scene and settle by triggering your youth experience.
So in Alpha waves, at REM. You get flashback.
Is normal. All of us goes through the same cycle.
In fact, you can "control" what you want your dream to be.
Solve your "daytime" issue, you end your nightmare.
We dreams all night. Just that, we don't always remember them all.
If you did, good for you.
There are also Deja Vu. But is a long story to go ahead.
Meanwhile, keep calm... enjoy those dreams, it means you are alive

A dragon is the bible symbolizes sin. probably tou did something wrong and this is how your mind reacts to it. A dragon could also mean a large obstacle or a problem you need to overcome. If youre slaying the dragon then it means that yoy have overcome your problems. the opposite if it beats you. It could also mean good luck (in chinese) or past memories or hobbies that you do when you are young are coming back.

maybe something happened in your childhood to trigger it that is as emotional as your husband being away. Emotional frustration will trigger your subconcious which controls dreams. So if you are emotionally frustrated... certain dreams will be triggered,
If these dreams scare you badly try controlling them. Tell yourself before you lay down that you are going to remember your dreams first... that is the first step. Keep a dream journal.

Having children can remind you of your childhood. When you were vulnerable. The dragon might represent your fears of the unknown for you your child and your husband. I used to dream about Godzilla and whatever monster was on TV. My father was like Frankenstein to me. Because you remember your childhood you should be able to connect the dots for yourself.
