Miss Community Spirit is knocking again, this time for a baby shower for the mother-to-be up the road. I've never seen that in Mothercare. Is she taking the p iss?

It's another Americanisation. I believe they are popular there. Wait till she has the baby and go and take her a gift yourself. Don't get sucked into these horrid, insidious customs.

Yes, someone is always wanting your money. Do as I do and NEVER give anyone anything that collects at the door. Give your money freely to whoever you wish, but never be embarrassed by 'Miss Community Spirit'. It's a definite cheek--if they can't afford a child why have one.
