Your "man" apparently does not care to have children with you. I would get out of the relationship and look for someone who does. I had my son and 40 and it was a perfectly healthy pregnancy and he is a perfectly healthy child. As long as you take good care of yourself you can have children. As far as your relationship, I doubt his reason for not believing you is concern for your health. Sounds to me like there's more to it.

Over 35 you begin to run statistically significant but in reality relatively small (but which do increase each year) risks of birth defects such as Downs syndrome. These do really increase dramatically over 40. So yes - there is some concern but many many many ladies have children at your age. My dad was born to a 45 year old mom in 1936. If your overall health and fitness is good - likely your current age is not really an issue.

Perhaps your guy doesn't want children and thus he is latching onto this excuse? You guys have some serious relationship "work" to do on this issue. Better to do it now than after kids.

And..............I would advise against the route of just getting pregnant anyways without his being OK.

My mom had my brother when she was 36 and it's like the best thing she ever did, she was so much mature and I believe that she raised him better than she did with me and my sister, she is now close to 50 and my brother will be 16 and he keeps them busy with sports and things like that, my mom says that it is sometimes hard to keep up with him but that it is all worth it because now my sister and i are married and gone! and he is still the baby, my mom still has that "baby". The age does not matter, the older you are the less mistakes as a parent you will make, I am 29 and pregnant with my first baby and very happy. I'd say go for it, it seems like the one who is not ready is him, if you can get into his head and let him know how important this is for you then you can tell if he really loves you. Good luck!!

Me and my wife had our 2 kids when we were 36. Even though the risks we slightly higher it was still minimal. My best friend just had a baby at 45 and was very healthy.

I would say you are safe unless your man friend isnt ready mentally. There is nothing worse than people brininging in unwanted children into the world.

You are not too old. It just sounds like he doesn't want children. You need to figure out something fast if you really want children. My sister was in this situation and finally decided to become a single parent. I never really wanted children, but had 2 anyway. It was the best thing I've done in my life.

Had my 1st at just 18yrs. My 2nd at 30yrs. My 3rd at 33yrs and my lovely last at 39yrs. No problems. I'd say your man don't want any kids full stop. But for you if all is well with your body you can still conceive into your forties. All the best.

my mothers best friend had her first child at 36 and her second at 38..Both babies were born on or after thier due date and both were totally fine.

I think your man needs to sit down and watch The discover channel..Thier are people in thier 40's and 50's having babies.

I have known SEVERAL women over 35 that had babies. If he won't go, go to the doc by yourself. Get a check up and get tested for your reproductive health. Then go at it! Good luck!

Sounds like he's making exscuses ... take him to a park or arcade or visit family or friends that have children and show him how rewarding parenthood can be. Then maybe he will re-consider.

Of course! There are plenty of them, especially these days when some are starting families so late. My mom was 39 when she had her last child.
