Well, it all just depends on how much you can handle financially, mentally, and physically. Mine are 15 months apart, and it was a bit of a struggle, especially once I went back to work, but I wouldn't trade it for anything. They're 2 and 3 now, and they're starting to play together and keep each other busy. They also team up on my husband and I sometimes, so be prepared.
The biggest thing is that you need to be physically and mentally ready to run around after the 2 of them, and make sure you're ready to give your attention equally to the 2 of them. Everyone was so worried about making sure my oldest didn't feel neglected when my youngest came along, that my youngest wasn't getting much attention at all - only mine. So the thing to remember, should you decide to have another one now, is that you need to make sure your oldest doesn't feel neglected because of the new baby, but also that your baby gets all the attention he / she needs as a newborn. Once you're ready for that, I think you should go for it. Good Luck!!

I have an 18 month gap between my two sons and I wish i'd waited a bit longer before having my second. Apart from being very tiring my 2 year old couldn't understand why this little thing that mummy kept cuddling wouldn't go away!!
That said, I think you should do whatever feels right for you although i wish i'd waited i wouldn't change either of them for the world and if someone had told me to wait when i wanted my second I wouldn't have listened! Do what you think is best and the very best of luck with everything xxx

I think its lovely to have 2 close in age to each other. Friends who've done it have found that first year a real struggle but the pay back is later when they keep each other amused (when not fighting!). I have a 1 year old and I feel as though I'm only just getting myself and my energy back but if you're already feeling full of beans then go for it. BTW I don't think being 31 is particularly old unless you're planning on more than 3 kids!

You sound like you're ready to me. I gave birth in March(almost 6 months old now) and a lot of girls from my birth group are already pregnant again.
I like you, I don't mind having 2 in diapers. My husband and I are going to start activly trying again in a few months, we haven't used protection since our son was born, but we have been kinda avoiding the O times. Some kids don't potty train until they're 4, and there's no way I want my kids 4 years apart.
So, go for it! You totally sound like you're upto having two in diapers and all that.
Good luck, and may you concieve quickly!

I say that if you are ready to have another, then I do not see a problem. My two girls are 14 months apart, so that was a tough one for me, having them both in diapers. But eventually, I got used to it. If you can handle the stress and financial aspect of it, then I give you the green light. There is an up-side to having them close together....not only will they play great together, but when one graduates school, you know that the next year, you will (hopefully) have the house to yourself. ;)

Looks like you have answered your own question, do it as soon as you like if you feel ready. If you get pregnant now your older child will be 19 months, so it would be a bit of a handful, wait about 5 months or so and they will be 2 years apart - that's a nice gap.

Wait until your first is 1 year old. It's just a couple of months. Docs frown on having babies so close together, because it can take up to 2 years for your body to bounce back from childbirth.

I think the real question is 'how close do you want them in age'. My mom had my sister and brother barely a year apart its like 12 monts and 3 days or something crazy. If you dont mind them in diapers together go for it!

I got pregnant with my second daughter when my first daughter was 10 months old. I have friends who have gotten pregnant sooner. Other than I'm extremely tired from having one who wakes up early and one who stays up all night........and the constant stream of diapers, I am alright. If you're ready, talk to your Dr. or Midwife

I believe that docs reccommend it least 1 year if you had a c-section, but if you delivered naturally then you should be fine to get pregnant now. It sounds like you're ready. To be sure just ask your doctor if health wise it will be alright. Good Luck!
