Writer's note...as we all know, nothing really rhymes with orange. This suggestion, courtesy of Oz-Chic, never said that I couldn't use MADE-UP WORDS!! SO without further ado ( and a prize for Oz-Chic)...

10) SCORNGE--What the other oranges do to another orange when it leaves the tree too soon.

9) DORINGE--That's a door hinge in Southern Alabama.

8) EEYORNGE--That's how a two year old tells you that the color has gone out on the TV while she was watching Winnie The Pooh.

7) ARHNGE--Outside of Texas this word is pronounced "Aren't"

6) ABHORNGE--Someone who detests oranges.

We're really laboring now!!!

5) SNORNGE--What your hubby does all night long.

4) SPORNGE--What you describe the orange that has sat for 6 months in the back of fridge and is now covered with mold.

3) FORNGE--That's four inch as pronounced by a Southern madam.

2) HEMAROINGE--Eat 250 oranges in a row...see what flares up first.

1) BINKY--Sure it doesn't rhyme with orange but it sure is fun to say!!
There are many words that have no rhyme in the English language. "Orange" is only the most famous. Other words that have no rhyme include:
silver, purple, month, ninth, pint, wolf,
opus, dangerous, marathon, and discombobulate.

But just because these words have no 'perfect rhyme' doesn't mean we can't rhyme with them. Using slant rhyme, we can rhyme with these words anyway. To add anything to the list, post it to our boards or email escher@flocabulary.com

Words with No Rhyme? We Rhyme 'em anyway.

orange - lozenge, boring, forage, porridge, door-hinge, score bench
silver - filter, shiver, filler, deliver, liver
purple - Steve Urkel, whirlpool, urinal, hurtful, circles
month - dunce, hunts, moth, runt
ninth - mine, lines, absinth, labyrinth
pint - ain't, paint, might
wolf - gulf, fur, enough, dull
opus - flow this, rope is, Lupus, lotus, bogus, psychosis
dangerous - major risk, plagerist , cameras, game to us, spontaneous
marathon - care what's on, dandruff song, Dara's wrong, Santa's gone, paragon
prepare a song thats rare and strong to keep these cats from staring long
discombobulate - the disco they love to hate, Crisco ovulate, risky even on a date, Sisqo's rollerblades

For mauve:

mauve - sauve

No words rhyme with orange, the closest that I've found is blamange which, at best, is a half-rhyme. As for mauve, there's loads eg stove, hove etc

Grove rhymes with mauve (at least it does with my accent).
Closest to orange is syringe, but the emphasis on the syllables is different.
