No. You cannot. You can ask for a reply but you can't get an automatic reply or check the progress. All you can know is that it went through. Call instead.

Many email programs and providers offer a "request return receipt" option. However, you must select that option before sending the email. Also, the recipient CAN decide NOT to send the receipt.

Microsoft Outlook, will give you 2 options, first to mark the e-mail asking for a delivery receipt, second is to ask for a read receipt, both of witch are ticked before sending the e-mail.

after the event,, don't think so.

If you happen to have an AOL account yes. Not familiar with others but yahoo and outlook and for those you have to opt for a return receipt and read receipt to pove delivery and that it was opened.

FYI. I set my outlook up to never respond to those requests. Not sure how many people have done the same...

if you had used outlook their are settings you can add to an e-mail like what you are talking about. the bad thing is they have to accept a yes box to send the notification
