I have a Palm TX and am trying to figure out how to sync the calender with outlook, but everything else(memo/contacts etc) with the Palm desktop. Right now everything is syncing with Outlook and my IT department has told me I can't do a split. I have Palm Desktop v 4.2

If I remember correctly, you can right click the hotsync tray icon in Windows and there's an option there to select what you want and don't want to sync.

I'm at work now and can't try it, but I think I'm right.

Lyvy is right that you can choose what to synch and what not to synch. But only within either Palm desktop or Outlook. It is what you are doing right now in that it is only synching you calendar with Outlook.

Because of the way Palm's synch with Outlook, by redirection. you can not synch with both Outlook and Palm. The software actually tricks you Palm into thinking it is talking to the Desktop rather than Outlook. So there is no way to split the info. I probably get the question at least once a week.

You can not use both at the same time. You can only use either one or the other. You can however choose what to sync or not via the hotsync manager. Personally i would not use Outlook to sync as the Outlook conduits are not working the best. And Palm can only assist you a tiny bit with it because they don't support Outlook.
