Dear Marbard - It can only be one of three things:
1) Magpies
2) Someone you know has a spoon fetish and is a compulsive thief.
3) They are falling through a space-time distortion in your drawer. Someone, in a galaxy far, far away is asking 'Why do all these spoons keep appearing?' I think they have a similar answer appearing on their screen right now.

Hope this helps.

There is a little know fable or the elf called Spoffer. He is a mysitcal creacture that steals spoons from you kitchen, the remote from your living room, and the socks from your dryer. IT is rarely seen but if you ever do, never look in to his eye or you will fall under a spell and get sucked in to the "Under the Bed"
where he lives at.

Check the flowerbeds, if you live with children, spoons can become very handy little spades for little hands. Otherwise, there might be a tiny micro-worm hole in your cutlery draw, and alas, your spoons have fallen through the cracks of space-time into one of the multiverses.

If you a parent, try looking in the kid's room(s), that's where all my stuff goes. You'll probably also find the TV remote you thought was lost and had to replace last month, the sox you thought the dryer ate, and several of your CDs you didn't even know were missing. If you're not a parent, you've just lost the blame things, you irresponsible twerp.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who seems to have this problem... and it's only the spoons! Is there a spoon burglar on the loose or something?

The spoon fairy takes them at night. Every now and then she leaves a key in their place. You must have sometimes found a key that you didn't recognize and which didn't fit anywhere. These are spoon fairy keys.

So glad others have this problem! Thought I was going nuts! moved into new(old) house and was beginning to think it was haunted. Spoons, forks ,socks, belts, remotes, pens, hairbands you name it ,its disappeared ,if located its always in the oddest places. This is truly an unsolved mystery! Fairies, elves, ghosts, worm holes, OZ, old age, who knows.

Quick.... check your cups!

You do remember that the cup ran away with the spoon! Maybe it's happening in your house right under your nose!
