when u go out with ur parents to ur relatives home or in a marriage function do u lookforward to meet someone single and alone like u of oppsite sex ...and do u lookforward to become friend and closer...may be a marriage proposal ...if eveything is ok ? what is ur experience in such a situation ....lol..has it happened to u ?

Wow, thats certainly looking at it from a different point of view. I usually go to relatives or marriage functions just for the sake of it and showing face. I have no expectations when I attend those things. Not all Indians are marriaged minded when they attend certain functions, maybe some mothers are but certainly not the children.

Why does it always have to be that we're only happy when we're with someone? I like my freedom, hanging out with friends, doing my own thing till I am done with college...but that's just me. When I do go out with my parents to Indian functions (lol which every Indian kid is forced to do regardless of age or how busy things might be....) I do look forward to meeting young people. But it's for friendship reasons only. Why do you say "alone"? Just because you dont have a boyfriend or girlfriend doesn't mean you are "alone". What about your friends, family, relatives, the people who care about you, what are they chopped liver?? Marriage or a relationship shouldn't make you happy, it should make you happier. That means that only if you can handle being content and happy and enjoy life now when you are single, only then can you handle even being with a guy or a girl. Till then, any relationship you get into you'll just be expecting that other person to fulfill your needs and give you your happiness and no human being is capable of doing that.
side note for angelinecj above me: I understand an indian guy messed you up but I think it is very unfair of you to dish out a statement like "please do not marry an indian". God forbid someone place on your head the mistakes commited by every chinese man and woman.
Please do not generalize all indians because of what one did to you.

Sorry to tell u this but i had a bad experience with an indian. He promise to marry me a chinese but i know it wont works cos due to culture diff and he is from india .
HE tells me he loves me but he is looking for an indian gal at rista.com.
I sacrifice my life for 2 years and now i really dunno how to go back . I hate him . he ruined my life and career.
so please dont think abt marrying an indian.
