You should've told them when you made your reservations. They may still upgrade you, though. My boyfriend and I just got back from WDW a couple weeks ago. When we were planning they sent us an email asking if we were celebrating any special events. I put down that it was our anniversary, even though it wasn't, just to see if they'd do anything. We were upgraded to Concierge with the best view on property (but we stay at the Polynesian Resort.) They also sent us numerous gift baskets and treats during our 10 night/11 day stay, and treated us like royalty. The manager came out upon our check-in and told us we were V.I.P. at the Resort. It was an awesome vaction. The only thing is we were on the Platinum Plan and spent about $10,000 for our vacation, so that may have been part of the reason they did so much for us.
But I've heard of people celebrating their birthdays at WDW and being upgraded. I've read stories online of people being upgraded because it was their5-year-old son's birthday, or whatever. Sometimes they'd deliver them a cake for free, or something. I'm sure they'll find something to do to make your trip more magical! Also, when you make dining reservations let them know it's your birthday. They'll usually bring out a free dessert or cake for you.
When I was there a couple weeks ago, I actually talked to this couple in line. The husband said they'd been out to eat at the Rainforest Cafe twice that week, and both times they told them it was his birthday. Both times he got a free "Sparkling Volcano" dessert.
Have fun! HAPPY BIRTDHAY!

Probably not. To be honest, they don't really have any good rooms that you could be upgraded to. They have single and double rooms, but nothing ultra fancy or anything with a great view. Now, if you were staying at a moderate resort, you may be able to get upgraded to a nicer room, but Disney doesn't do upgrades. So many people book their rooms so far in advance that they typically do not do that.
Hotels like the Hilton will do upgrades if you are a HHonors member. They will also do upgrades if you are willing to pay for it!
You could always call them to find out... it is worth a shot.

My answer, I'm afraid is going to be like all the rest... you need to call the Pop Century Resort and ask them directly. Sometimes, if a room is available, they can accomodate you. But typically, nicer rooms are reserved in advance. But there's no harm in trying!

When you arrive at your resort, ask if an upgrade is available. It is not uncommon for Disney (and other hotels) to give a free upgrade just for asking. They may charge a small fee or give it to you at no extra cost. You don't know if they will have anything available, but it never hurts to ask.
As far as your birthday, you can mention it on your reservation and on one of your dinings. They may do something a little special for you ;-)

I doubt it. Normally the preferred rooms are booked way in advance. Now, they might have something special in the room if you mention it's your birthday but free upgrades are not too common for birthdays.

I seriously doubt it. However, do make it a point to mention that it is your birthday, you will get some type of "extra" treatment.

YOU CAN TRY BUT PROBABLY NOT, THOSE ROOMS ARE RESERVED MONTHS IN ADVANCE. BUT STILL MENTION THAT IT'S YOUR BIRTHDAY, THEY MAY GIVE YOU SOME FREE STUFF.
