I am from UK. I would love to visit USA and I would love to go several times. I have bad impressions about USA and good but more good than bad.
THE BAD - USA is seen by much of the world as political bullies. Overweight. Overbrash. Some elements of American culture seem false to us, for example an American Christmas tree and decorations will probably be bigger, more expensive and showy and than ours, but ours will be more traditional and tasteful.
The way the American Government treats innocent marijuana users is draconian, stupid and nothing short of human rights abuses. The ridiculous war against pot smokers is very reminiscent of the McCarthy witch hunts.
Bush is a total moron, but there again so is Blair.
Everything that is mad or weird or sick often comes out of America first.
It is easy to get the impression that Americans are all mad because going to a psychiatrist appears to be a national past time.
GOOD - Film, although Hollywood produces lots of rubbish it also produces some amazing stuff. I believe the medium of film is the primary art form today and at their best Americans are masters in this area.
My mother has been to USA many times and she tells me that because the country is so big that there is a lot of variation in the different states.
Americans have said that it is a beautiful country and from background shots on films alone I can tell that is true.
Americans tend to be master entrepreneurs.
American cuisine I suspect has infinite variety, although some of your eating habits seem strange to us.
America, or to be more precise parts of black America have produced two of the greatest and most influential musical genres known, Gospel and Blues.
On balance I think the national character of America is Brave, pioneering, immature, entrepreneurial, insecure in some ways and not others, self reliant. I think despite your problems, crime and prejudices that America is a great place with many great people.

I like America and have always had a great time when visiting there. It's an amazingly varied country with some fantastic natural scenery, great architecture, good food, and friendly people. At the moment its also very cheap as the dollar is low.
Not all Americans are idiots like Bush or chainsaw wielding in-bread rednecks. True enough, some of them are fat, some of them are bigots and racists, some of them are very poorly informed about what is going on outside their own neighbourhood, but that is also true of many English, French, Spanish, Nigerians, Iranians etc. etc.
Don't be put off by the current fashion among some people of hating everything from America, go and see for yourself and make your own opinion.

For: Everything, its like being in a real live movie. You'll never want to leave.
Against : Crime, guns, the speed limit. You can buy a machine gun but can't drive over 55mph. Not being able to walk anywhere. Everyone begging for a dollar. Tipping. Cabs. TV, except for the comedies. Hurricanes. Race. Basketball. Fire ants. Termites. The Horse racing. Did I mention guns. The total deprivation of some inner urban areas. Don't park in the wrong place. The Deep South. Dallas,Houston etc. Bus terminals. That poisonous spider thingy. YMCA and guns and drugs, earthquakes, there....

English. I am sick and tired of people of my nationality having a go at George Bush. The American people voted him in for a second term, after all.Secondly, although obesity is a problem in America it is also a problem over here. Third my sister who recently visited the States noted that everyone stood for the National Anthem prior to a baseball game.So let us have considered views of America, not caricatures.Sure, there are undesirable aspects to it,but much that is good, much that is great.

Do you have something against America? If so.........stay away. There is plenty reason to love living here.........and apparently so do others from different countries because there is always new citizens that weren't born here. Reading some of these responses really makes me sad that some Americans view their country as they do. I am American and born and raised on the east coast. I would love to see more of this beautiful country and visit many places. There is allot of beauty to see and lots of friendly people. People will be nice as long as you are nice to them.........if you are rude then they will give it right back to you. I am proud to be an American. Don't judge us all because of our president or politics.

But no offence of course..I can do nothing but I think I am free to say my oppinion!!

There are many choices to visit/see desert, mountains, beaches, major cities or country side and amusement parks. We have anything and everything that you could possibly want to do or see. Reason not to come, you will be told off if you come with a BAD attitude (see above post) We Americans will not accept rudeness you will be told off.....maybe we are a bit to bold.

There are 2 varieties of Indian adult males: one that won't be able to waitttttt to bypass stay in a remote places united states and different who might by no ability bypass away their motherland. lots of the adult males I communicate with (i'm a South Indian woman btw) are the two or while it involves this occasion... by no ability a perhaps or everywhere destiny takes me. So ask what your bf might decide to do incase in case you the two get married. one element you could desire to realize is that as quickly as they say once you get married you at the instant are not marrying in basic terms that one individual you're somewhat lots marrying the entire kin is genuine while it involves marrying an Indian. they might butt into your employer like no different. Being an Indian I dislike that. yet then it relies upon on how each and each individual take it. solid luck with each little thing... !!! :-) have exciting in India

I only visit places in America because I live here. I don't go anywhere else because I'm cheap, lazy, and will not fly. If I lived elsewhere I probably would not visit America for those same reasons.
