Step 1: Tilt a test tube, upside down, and support it.

Step 2: Generate hydrogen, just a small amout, and let it rise into the test tube.

Step 3: Light a match, and place it near the bottom of the tube.

Step 4: You will hear a 'pop'

Step 5: The local oxygen in the air will combine with the hydrogen captured in the tube. Some water droplets will form on the inside glass surface.

Note: There is no need to create 'lots' of hydrogen. See the link below:

Hydrogen burns in oxygen to produce water. So the answer is to burn the hydrogen in oxygen atmosphere. However...................

Be careful, hydrogen will burn really hot! Do not do it in a closed container, you will create an explosion.

If you have a steady supply of hydrogen, burn it in air in the open. A cold surface held a little way above the flame will result in the water vapor produced condensing out on the cold surface. If the surface is held at an angle, the water vapor will run down it and can be collected. Do not expect to produce water by the bucket load.

water is a byproduct of a lot of reactions. you don't just combine hydrogen and oxygen in the lab and get water. what happens when you burn the two of them you get water - in the vapor form. would take a lot to get liquid
