I get the impression that Robert Half's goal is to have a HUGE database of resumes so that they can sell their product, but they have little interest in finding applicants a job. Unless you are at the top of your game, you are probably better off looking for work privately. Conversely, if you are at the top of the game, you would be better off looking for work privately so that can avoid payment to your middle man.

If you're a professional and not looking for clerical work try a smaller consulting firm in the town or city where you want to work...

They usually have more personal contacts with the hiring managers and have an easier time placing their clients....

I am in Human Resources and we have occasionally used this service to hire temporary employees. It is a reputable firm. If you are looking for an accounting job it is an OK place to go particularly for temporary employment. IMHO

Used them to find an Accounting job.

They got me one interview and when I didn't get hired, never heard from them again.
