That is not too much. My doctor told that the average weight gain is 1 pound per week. However, most of the weight will be gained during the last trimester.

That is fine. Your doctors want you to gain at least 20 to 30 pounds threw out. Some people lose in the begining cause they are getting sick and stuff. But no that is fine advice just eat alot of small meals don't go over board, but enjoy your pregnancy

Uh yeah that's fine, i don't remember what i was at 8 wks but i started at 105 and when i had my son i was 210, so lets see i was a fat *** who gained over a 100 pounds, lol

My current weight is 110, my son is 2 and a half, i think that is pretty damn good if i don't say so myself lol

Don't worry so much, just eat healthy for your baby, stay away from fast food, i never touched it, all healthy friuits, vegs, pasta ect. You'll do fine, good luck

according to the "experts" and books i've read here's the weight gain:

total weight gain of about 25-30 pounds is good and average.

1st trimester--- 5pounds
2nd trimester-- 5 pounds
3rd trimester-- 1 pound per week

those are average weight gains. if you gain 8 pounds the first trimester, then that's o.k.

at 8wks you are a little over halfway through your 1st trimester and and even if you doubled your weigth gain to 7 pounds..you're fine!

if you have any concerns about your weight gain, though, make sure to ask your OB. you could have certain things in your medical history that the "norm" doesn't petain to.

i used to ask my OB about my weight gain all the time and he kept me up to date on where he'd like to see my weight.

take care!

i didn't put any weight on until i was nearly 6 months pregnant, then i absolutely ballooned, but my friend started putting weight on from about 6 weeks. i think it depends from person to person, and on height etc. taller people tend to not show or put much weight on until the middle stages of pregnancy, but shorter people tend to experience changes sooner. i dont think your weight gain is anything to worry about, but if you are concerned then your midwife should help. hope your pregnancy goes well!

well when i was pregnant i only gained like 30lbs the whole time! i weighed 120 before and then i think i wieghed like 155lbs right before i had my son! i know that when in my fist 3 months of being pregnant tho i was really ill and all i did was sleep and they were worried about my woight gain! so dont worrie about it unless your doctor says somthing to you about your weight! eat right and drink lots of water! and you and the baby will be just fine! :)

forgotten. perhaps there is a chart as a guide.

i believe there is no fix rules to it . it depends on individual , some gain a lot of weight because there is more body retaintion of water., some do not. both can be normally healthy.

Be guided by your Midwife on this one.... I did not put on any weight with my fourth child.. He gained and I lost.... But I have always been overweight and could afford to lose it. Your midwife will be measuring baby and keeping an eye on its weight gain.. Good luck
