Some lipsticks did at one point contain led, however with FDA regulations, that is now an urban legend. No lipsticks sold in the US today actually contain lead anymore.

Apply a little lip stick on your hand and use a gold ring to rub against it.. if the lip stick turns black means, it contains lead.. Otherwise it's safe..
