anyone getting a PS3?

I am getting one on the release date!!! The store manager of my local GAME promised me that I would definately get a PS3 AND a Nintendo Wii on the release date because I have been a regular and loyal customer for years with 37552 points on my reward card so far £1 = 10 points and 1000 points = £2.50 so God only knows how much of my cash has been spent in that shop!!!

I proably will eventually. Not getting it at launch though, I had planned on it but got tired of waiting. On top of that they lost developers, either gone or dual launch with the 360, so no real loss in just getting a 360 instead. Besides the PS3 will be about a year behind, and it took the 360 a year to get to the level of being good. So what if it takes the PS3 a year or close to that? Imagine how far ahead the 360 will be. Oh and the idiot who claimed they got one already from Hong Kong, ummm I wouldn't admit to that. See you just admitted you have an ILLEGAL system. The WORLD Debut isn't until Nov. 17th and that includes Japan, North America, and Europe. So you are claiming you have a system that won't be on the market in that area as well for 2 and half months.

I am a huge fan of the Playstation consoles but Sony has really F-d up the PS3 launch. They have tried to cram everything into that damn thing and that has driven the price way too high. The actual cost of the Blue-Ray player alone is like $500. I personally think Blue Ray will survive as the HD format but due I think I will pass on a $800 gaming device. Additionally, due to the high cost of the console to Sony (they are loosing money with every one they sell), I don´t see the price dropping for quite some time. So, ask again in 2008 and I might say yes.

I work for GAME and we have already started taking orders even though its 3 months till the ps3 is actually out.

The uk waiting list is already 10,000+ and the uk are only being given 3000 and out of that 3000 all the main dealers have got there orders in and have already been told to expect major short falls what will actually be arrive in the uk.

I think sony are making a mistake trying for a global debut like microsoft tried with the 360, we all remember how bad that was! no where near enough units were made for key markets.
Sad fact was japan had 360's to spare while uk and europe had next to nothing!

Most people will have to wait until mid summer 07 until fresh supplies arrive.

In terms of the games, it looks like it's pretty much even between the Xbox 360 and the PS3, so I'll just spend $200 less and get a Wii instead

Eventually ... once the price falls for both the games and the console. Most the games are coming out on xbox 360 anyway so why fork out more money to play?

Plus you can buy a Wii and xbox360 for the less than a PS3!

I was going to, until I saw the price. For that I could get a 360 and a Wii, wich I did. Granted the Wii isn't out yet, but I have one reserved. Plus grand theft auto is no longer exclusive to the playstation along with other titles so its no loss getting a 360, just a lot more change in your pocket.

Its just to epensive for me! Also I never liked the Dual Shock pad, I dont have a HD tv so BluRay is useless to me and I also prefer racing and shooting games which are better served by xbox 360. I guess never say never though, hey could get a run of a couple of games in a couple of years that I just gotta have.

No way, it's ging to be far to dear. But it is pretty good al the same, especialy since a better grphic version of Fina Fantasy 7 wil come out on it.

Im not. They are overpriced for a marked up PS2. Thats the same reason i didn't get an xbox 360. I can find better thing to spend my hard earned money on.
