You usually dont start feeling your baby kick until 5 months up to 6 months. At first you will feel things but wont even know its him kicking. its wild!
When they say it feels like butterflies in your stomach.. they mean it literaly!
The first kicks you feel it seems like a butterfly wing is flattering against the wall of your stomach. You wont recognize it is a kick until later when it keeps happening.
After you are around 7, 8 months pregnant, the kick feels like a gas bubble moving in your stomach.
It is an experience! my son is now 5 months and the whole pregnancy was awesome for me!

You can feel a baby's kick anytime after the 16th week but if you are on your first pregnancy you may or may not notice it yet because the baby is so small it will just feel like fluttering at first then as the baby grows it will become a lot more noticeable. I didn't feel my first baby kick until I was almost at the end of my 5th month. I am only in my 13th week now but I am looking forward to the day I feel this one kick... Congratulations babies are such a blessing :-)

Pregnancy
What do my baby’s first movement feel like?

After the fatigue and perhaps some morning sickness, you wonder when you’re going to be rewarded by feeling your little one move. Feeling your baby move inside of you for the first time will be one of the most exciting experiences of your pregnancy. Most first time moms will not experience this until about 20 weeks. If you are very in tuned with your body or if you already have at least one child, you will most likely feel this movement even earlier.

Moms have described their baby’s first movements as:

Butterflies Fluttering Their Wings
Tickling from the Inside
Gas Movements

After you feel the first sign, you will find yourself pausing and smiling at every movement. The truth is, your baby is constantly moving and even doing somersaults in the womb. After a few more weeks, your baby’s movements will go from fluttering butterfly wings to karate kicks. In your third trimester, you can entertain yourself by actually watching your belly changing shape with your baby’s change of position. One mother described her baby’s movements as so dramatic that her little girl kicked a bowl of ice cream right off mom’s belly.

This is a very exciting time of your pregnancy, so enjoy!

20 to 24 weeks is normal for feeling the kicks in the first pregnancy, but for the second it could be as little as 14 weeks. So, you may be feeling little flutters. You partner won't be able to feel the kicks until 24 to 26 weeks.

It'll start out feeling like little flutters (kind of like butterflies) in your tummy. Then it'll be more like a bubble popping in your stomach. Then it's full out war from the inside. I didn't really feel much until I was about 22 - 24 weeks pregnant. By 28 weeks she was rolling so hard you could see my tummy moving. It's the BEST feeling in the world. Congratz on the baby!!

THe best way I can describe what it feels like at first is like someone is drawing with a small pin on the inside of your uterus, like a tickle, which you could be feeling now. For me, I felt the first actual 'kick' around 18 weeks. ALso, placental placment affects how early or late you will feel things. It your placenta is lying on the front of your uterus, you likely will feel kicks a little later.

If it's a glaswegian child, he may headbutt instead. Turn on the football/soccer and see if that gets it going.
