open teh contacts folder and click on file menu or tools menu (cant remmber which even though ive done it myself many times) and click on 'import contacts'. it will give you a series of options and just select the one you want. for hotmail you dont need to provide server details usually but will need to for non hotmail or msn address books

Word of advice don't use outlook express, it lacks in security. Hotmail is much better to use, it has better security and can be accessed from any computer no matter where you are, as long as you have a Internet connection.
Stick with hotmail, forget outlook.
I learned about this is the computer courses I took out at the college I attend.
