This is because they:

*are more focused on tests
*dont have a hard hitting striker who takes risks(like afridi)
*no bowler(odi) which all teams fear...(like akhter)
*they play very slowly! The only time when the run rate was excellent was when the trailenders came in

They'd better get a grip with the worldcup round the corner

I think I heard we are ranked 8th in the world for one day cricket. That sounds OK until you see that there is only Zimbabwe, Kenya and Bangladesh that are below us.

Our batsmen don't seem to get the runs on the board. On paper, the team looks pretty good.

I think that Broad looks good though. He might be a good bet for our future rise through the ranks.

The best player last night was Rain, he really saved the day for us.

impatience! that is all. there is a good team of players, but they dont seem to know how to bat quick runs without losing wickets. if there were wickets left at the end, then more games would be won, but we seem to continually get out, leaving no chance of scoring quick runs at the end. slow scoring is ok in one-dayers, but you need to keep wickets intact.

It's because the batsmen like Marcus Trescothick, Strauss, Pietersen etc. Don't really concentrate, and get themselves out quick.
The bowling attack isn't very good, and is full of leg-side bowling, even when Harmison isn't in the side.
The test side is to close to the ODI side, because Duncan Fletcher uses ODI's to breed test players.
So... everyones in the wrong in the team.

Why are England so bad at EVERY sport....Might be something to do with the lack of facilities and finance for our young talented potentials......

They are too patient. They need to hit out and get wickets quick. They just don't seem to be doing that
