No. A stereotype is a generalized meme or idea about a group that many people think is true but that is not necessarily true of any member of the group, much less the groups as a whole. The more negative the stereotype, the more likely it is to be untrue of the group or any member.

A stererotype is not a geric truth. The initial development was used as a disparaging remark that a group has agreed upon even though it is not based on fact or loosley based on one sole concept that often does not apply to the societal structure of the group. You can not assume that the entirety of a group will all act and behave the same way based on your own preconcieved notions. You may like chocolate and your friends may all like chocolate does that mean that you all are derived from the cocoa bean...of course not! that would be silly but if you think that through a course of a lifetime you will meet a lot of like minded people some may even be members of a club where they discuss their interests but that does not mean that all the people you meet belong to a subgroup of people. Stereotypes are group insults that are just as hurtful as racisim.

A Stereotype is when one person makes a statement about a specific ethnic person and then assumes the same statement is true for all people under that ethnicity.
