I see you have several for bach's rescue remedy -- this is a very good mild sedative. Surveyor's list is great (of course, not all at one time). I think your comment about feeling the pain of life would lend itself to trying St. John's Wort. If its of a sexual nature, try a tincture of chaste weed. The 5HTP is a chemical that'll help you sleep, and its equivalent to triptophan (the thing that makes you sleepy after thanksgiving dinner - from the turkey). Don't expect anything DRASTIC, but you will feel the effects. I hope you find what works for you. One other suggestion: No herb or drug or mineral is as effective for me as 20 minutes of meditation. Good luck, God bless.

stress/anxiety are different from depression and should be treated as such, there are many things you can do to de stress such as aromatherapy bath oils, massage oils (you'd need a partner for this of course) meditation, exercise and a better diet, even a decent nights sleep can do wonders so just try to make some time for yourself even if you're not very busy, just set aside an hour or so specifically to do nothing but de-stress yourself, the easiest answer is not always the best one and popping a pill is rarely the answer.

Valerian. Passion flower. Hops. Damiana. Skullcap. Chamomile. Look for something that has a combination of these ingredients. Or just get Valerian plain.

Yes, St. John's Wort works very well for depression. Take at least 3mg. per day, 2-3 times per day. You will feel better in about 2 weeks. However, don't take it with any kind of prescription antidepressant or tranquilizers.
