Question: What do you think of this ????

Details of Violation: Dear All, Did you hear this one. I've added a link to www.snopes.com This site is devoted to discussing and verifying these emails, and establishing the origin or the story. Works well with alot of the porpaganda emails wanting you to sign partitions etc. Anywho, about time Aussies. Natty x Muslims who want to live under Islamic Sharia law were told on Wednesday to get out of Australia, as the government targeted radicals in a bid to head off potential terror attacks. A day after a group of mainstream Muslim leaders pledged loyalty to Australia at a special meeting with Prime Minister John Howard, he and his ministers made it clear that extremists would face a crackdown. Treasurer Peter Costello, seen as heir apparent to Howard, hinted that some radical clerics could be asked to leave the country if they did not accept that Australia was a secular state and its laws were made by Parliament. "If those are not your values, if you want a country which has Sharia law or a theocratic state, then Australia is not for you," he said on national television. "I'd be saying to clerics who are teaching that there are two laws governing people in Australia, one the Australian law and another the Islamic law, that is false. If you can't agree with parliamentary law, independent courts, democracy, and would prefer Sharia law and have the opportunity to go to another country, which practices it, perhaps, then, that's a better option," Costello said. Asked whether he meant radical clerics would be forced to leave, he said those with dual citizenship could possibly be asked to move to the other country. Education Minister Brendan Nelson later told reporters that Muslims who did not want to accept local values should "clear off". "Basically, people who don't want to be Australians, and they don't want to live by Australian values and understand them, well then they can basically clear off," he said. Separately, Howard angered some Australian Muslims on Wednesday by saying he supported spy agencies monitoring the nation's mosques. Britain ..... ARE YOU LISTENING? Quote: IMMIGRANTS, NOT AUSTRALIANS, MUST ADAPT. Take it or leave it, I am tired of this nation worrying about whether we are offending some individual or their culture. Since the terrorist attacks on Bali, we have experienced a surge in patriotism by the majority of Australians. However, the dust from the attacks had barely settled when the "politically correct" crowd began complaining about the possibility that our patriotism was offending others. I am not against immigration, nor do I hold a grudge against anyone who is seeking a better life by coming to Australia. However, there are a few things that those who have recently come to our country, and apparently some born here, need to understand. This idea of Australia being a multicultural community has served only to dilute our sovereignty and our national identity. As Australians, we have our own culture, our own society, our own language and our own lifestyle. This culture has been developed over two centuries of struggles, trials and victories by millions of men and women who have sought freedom. We speak mainly ENGLISH, not Spanish, Lebanese, Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, Russian, or any other language. Therefore, if you wish to become part of our society, learn the language! Most Australians believe in God. This is not some Christian, right wing, political push but a fact because Christian men and women, on Christian principles, founded this nation, and this is clearly documented. It is certainly appropriate to display it on the walls of our schools. If God offends you, then I suggest you consider another part of the world as your new home, because God is part of our culture. We will accept your beliefs and will not question why, all we ask is that you accept ours and live in harmony and peaceful enjoyment with us. If the Southern Cross offends you, or you don't like "A Fair Go", then you should seriously consider a move to another part of this planet. We are happy with our culture and have no desire to change, and we really don't care how you did things where you came from. By all means keep your culture but do not force it on others. This is OUR COUNTRY, OUR LAND, and OUR LIFESTYLE, and we will allow you every opportunity to enjoy all this. But once you are done complaining, whining, and griping about Our Flag, Our Pledge, Our Christian beliefs, or Our Way of Life, I highly encourage you take advantage of one other great Australian freedom, "THE RIGHT TO LEAVE". If you aren't happy here then LEAVE. We didn't force you to come here. You asked to be here. So accept the country YOU accepted. Pretty easy really; when you think about it. PLEASE PASS THIS ON TO EVERYONE, PERHAPS WE CAN CREATE A GROUND SWELL AND SEND OUR UK POLITICIANS THE MESSAGE THAT THE VAST MAJORITY OF US BELIEVE AS THE AUSSIES DO.........

to begin with, this is a rant, not a question... but I'm a sucker for an argument, so I'll chime in.

I am an Australian, and like a huge number of Australians, Howard, Costello, Nelson and most of the federal cabinet dont represent me on this issue - I'd appreciate if I wasnt assumed to agree.

And what's this about multiculturalism diluting our sovereignty? The sovereignty we took by military force from the previous owners of this land? Maybe some Kooris, Murris, Nungas etc would be better placed than me, a whiteboy, to talk about what immigration does to a culture... Oh that's right! They cant! Aboriginal people dont often have computers because our good, christian government that believes in a "fair go" lives with the fact that many Aboriginals live in third world standards on just about every quality of life indicator.

I'm not a christian, but I am australian. Whoever says that Australia was formed by christian values is deluded. This country was settled as a penal colony - it was settled by english petty theives, marines, and a handful of naval officers. There was nothing christian about it.

We've lived with migration for 200 years. It doesnt "dilute" anything unless you're talking about racial purity, and I neednt tell anyone that that idea really should have died with Hitler. When non-white immigration hit its peak in the 1950's, the immigration policy was "assimilation". ie, do as we do, fit in, dont change us. This is unrealistic. Migrant groups changed in the new environment, but so did the rest of us - and what a terrible thing it was that we got exposed to new foods, languages, philosophies, religions.

The great thing about australia is that it's free. That means when you come to this country, you can do what you want, within the law. Speak whatever language you like, believe whatever god you like. People who deny others freedom of belief and identity are bigots, plain and simple.

The rant you cut and pasted suggests that people who dont agree with our flag, our way of life, our christian beliefs should leave. I disagree with those things when they're used to promote intolerance. I am a first generation Australian, my dad was born in the Netherlands. Have I ever been told to "go back to where I came from" or "stop trying to change our culture"? No. Why? because I'm white. Interpret that for yourself.

I'm a Muslim and there is no reason why you cannot blend into the British culture and still be a Muslim. I am living proof of that. To be completely honest, I couldn't live in a Islamic country, as I could not cover from top to bottom and I'm a girl who loves to shop, and go to the cinemas and basically have my own freedom. Anyway, when your a Muslim you have to abide by the rules of the land where you live, and you also have to respect them which is what I do. If you do not like something about Britain, this does not mean you have to criticise it, just avoid it if you don't like it, don't moan!! Every country has their own culture, if we respected one another and understood that life would be so much more easier. :-)

This for me typifies the generalised Aussie stereotype who speaks his/her mind without bothering about the fact that someone may be offended. It is in no way racist because it does not attack other peoples' race or culture (or their beliefs), but makes a categorical statement to those living in Australia that intolerance of the accepted culture and beliefs is unacceptable. I think it's a commendable stand to make, and we in the UK should take note. Live and let live.

I would not consider myself a racist, and being of Australian parentage and living and working in the UK, I have seen in the 20 years I have been here a decline in the laws of the UK in favour of other country's beliefs and laws taking precedence.
If I had chosen to live in Iraq or Pakistan etc...the expectation would be that I would live by their laws ... they would in no way change any of their laws to suit me!!
I commend my country men and women, and would hope that others follow suit.
If you choose to live in another country, you live by the laws of that country and you learn the bloody language...that's not too much to ask!

it is real that God, if he exists, is interior the habit of asking questions he knows the solutions to. as an occasion, he asks Cain "the place is your brother"? the completed thought of omniscience only would not artwork. God places a tree interior the backyard, understanding finished nicely that Adam will consume from the tree, then gets royally annoyed while he shows out what he knew might ensue honestly got here approximately i believe what the above rather demonstrates is that the folk who wrote the Bible did not rather think of it out very for sure, so as that they created a God with impossible attributes that acted only like a guy or woman; not magnificent, on account that human beings invented him

This is not racist.I reckon i'm one of the most anti-racist people on the planet,I just don't see any racism in this statement. There is a welcome for any-one who wants to abide by the same laws as all Australians. If you came to my home,i would expect you to respect the the house rules.I,in return would do the same in your home.

This does not make you a racist. When is Rome as they say. Australia is to be commended for their backbone. Let me as a woman drive down a street in Saudi Arabia!! Ain't gonna happen. They have their culture in their countries, there is no reason to expect us to not have our culture.
